Spring Meeting 2026 in Innsbruck – Advancing AI2PI Together

Events & Workshops Research Findings Project Insights AI2PI teacher education Spring Meeting Innsbruck ErasmusPlus AI in Education Project Management Quality Assurance

INNSBRUCK, February 16, 2026 — From 16th to 18th February 2026, the European consortium of the Erasmus+ project AI2PI – From Artificial Intelligence to Pedagogical Innovation – met at the University College of Teacher Education Tyrol in Innsbruck.

Following the official kickoff meeting in Berlin in May 2025, the Spring Meeting marked an important milestone in the project’s development. Over three days of structured sessions and collaborative exchange, partners reviewed progress, aligned ongoing activities across work packages, and clarified priorities for the upcoming implementation phase.

Systematically embedding AI competencies

Three intensive days were dedicated to deepening the project’s content, strengthening the connections between the work packages, and collaboratively advancing the AI2PI Teacher Academy. Together with representatives from all the European partner institutions, the consortium continued its work on integrating AI competencies into pedagogical practice in a responsible and practice-oriented way.

Insights, connections, and moving forward

Right from the start, the consortium sharpened its shared understanding of the project’s goals, timeline, deliverables, and next steps. During the subsequent INSIGHTS sessions, the work package leaders presented the current status of their work, key findings and interim results, as well as concrete takeaways for the upcoming work packages. The close interconnection between the meta-analysis and the model development became particularly evident: the results of the scoping review provided valuable impulses for the further development of the AI literacy competency model. During intensive discussion and development sessions – including in the inspiring setting of a traditional Café in Innsbruck – these connections were explored in greater depth and further developed in terms of structure. Significant attention was also devoted to planning the upcoming Europe-wide teacher survey, with questionnaire items having been discussed in detail. A particular focus was placed on deriving key structures and content for the curricula development.

A change of perspective with a view ahead

A special highlight was the joint working afternoon on Innsbruck’s local mountain, the Patscherkofel. Between the cable car ride, the mountain panorama, and workshop sessions, key questions related to module structures, platform development, and next implementation steps were discussed. The combination of movement, nature, and a focused working atmosphere fostered creative thinking and collaborative decision-making.

Ensuring quality – shaping the future

The meeting concluded with a consolidation of ideas, supported by an input on quality assurance and the evaluation of the event. Open questions were addressed, responsibilities were clarified, and the next milestones were defined. The Spring Meeting in Innsbruck was therefore far more than a status update: it was an intensive, diverse, and highly collaborative working process that made the conceptual coherence between the work packages visible and significantly advanced the project’s strategic development. With a strengthened shared understanding, clearly defined interfaces, and concrete next steps, AI2PI is now entering its next phase – united by the common goal of embedding AI competencies in Europe’s educational landscape in a responsible way.
